lousy lovers pick their prey but they never cry out loud.

November 19th, 2008 -- Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

what a great weekend i just had! it was spent with whip cream fights, water balloons, kitties, sushi and tons of good times. saturday i visited a 12 year old girl’s birthday party, she always tells me i’m her idol and she really adores me so i thought it’d be cute to drop off a present that i picked up for her and hang out with her friends for awhile at her party. we all chased eachother around with water balloons, i let loose and just had a blast. we then took of about 20 jugs of cool whip and threw it in eachother’s faces and got totally covered. i love you kelly, you’re my girl.. ;)

i did a shoot yesterday with ryan thompson (rmtphotography.com). i drove out to tampa to shoot for snorg (snorgtees.com). snorg was sweet enough to even rent a studio out for me and the photographer for a few hours to shoot catalog stuff, it was a cute studio right in ybor that was filled with TONS of wardrobe, shoes, props, makeup, a cute dressing room, furniture, it was so sick. we had a lot of fun with it.

here are a few shots we took:

sunday was spent going to renniger’s antique festival in mount dora, it was such a blast! i got so many things for dirt cheap. i collect interesting tin boxes and absolutely adore when they are antique and actually have some character to them. i am starting this new craft, handmade and will be selling them online so watch out for that..can’t tell you all what it is just yet. :)

i got this awesome bag of vintage jewelry for super cheap this weekend too, look at everything that was inside!

sunday night jon and i got together with our dudes and went and had sushi…SO YUMMY!

i love my kittttty

a new shot from my last shoot with amberly…this was in a deserted house near my hometown…it was really freaky, we had to go in and check it out!

i love am’s and miss her…can’t wait to shoot again. i’m shooting with toria again on monday which excites me! i love her stuff, we make nifty stuff together. ;)

shooting tomorrow for rockin bones (www.rockinbones.net) with steven shea (www.abyssmal.com) hopefully we shoot some more afterwards…i need new headshots.

jon and i leave for ohio on tuesday evening…we’re going to have thanksgiving with his family this year in their new house they just bought there. i can’t wait to see them again, i enjoy his family a lot.

hope all is well in all of your lives…i’m off to live my life now instead of just typing it. <3

waking up to messages like this amaze me and make me smile:

I just read your page, I had to tell you we could be long lost siblings!! same background, except I unfortunately have french in there too! Seinfeld is the best show ever, you left out “curb your enthusiasm”!!!!
Any way, I got way too much time on my hands msging strangers!!
you are a beautiful young woman with the world at your fingers,
best of luck w everything!!
your stoned canadian half brother,
Pat

well pat, you’re awesome…:)

got a new photo from my shoot with phillip…seriously amazing.

also did a little photo project, turned out well:

i haven’t been wearing makeup these past couple days and it feels so good. i feel like i look like a 12 year old, but i heard that was the new trend.

motel money murder madness–let’s change the mood from glad to sadness.

November 13th, 2008 -- Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

ever heard that song la woman by the doors? get that shit if you haven’t.

i apologize dearly for my lack of updates, life is hectic and sometimes the last thing on my agenda is this dang website.

i really want a little pet monkey. i love the little monkey at the fair that goes around with the old lady on the cart and gives kisses for a dollar. i want to train a monkey to shake it’s ass or something, how hilarious would that be!

i’ve been resale shopping a lot lately and have found so many good finds. places like that always seem to have owl statues and i always buy them…i have a cute little collection going on. it’s funny because both of my grandmas have owl collections…i seriously feel like i might be a grandmother inside.

red wine has been my downfall these past couple weeks..i almost feel like it’s keeping me sane. i look forward to that glass of wine every night, such a wine-o..i know, i know.

it’s november and currently about 95 degrees in florida today..it’s amazing how it’s supposed to be winter and it’s this dang hot. i can’t complain too much because i definitely get bitter when the cold comes around.

sometimes i feel like the most random person i know…maybe besides amberly. she’s a good friend of mine and definitely a bit random herself. i spent the day with her tuesday and we had so much fun. we went around and did a new little series that i thought of. tights, tights, tights…pretty stoked to see how the pictures turn out! we also had lunch and coffee and cloves at the coffee shop, ranted about random things and just had a chill, relaxed adventurous day.

jimi from alumni sent me a postcard which i just got today! he visited egypt this month and sent me a postcard with these awesome pyramids..i love the egyptian stamp, it’s so neat.

tomorrow i’m shooting with steven shea for a clothing company, rockin bones. www.rockinbones.net. i’m excited because i always love working with steven. also picking up comp cards tomorrow. it’s going to be a busy day with printing letters, packing envelopes with comps, getting postage and sending them off! hopefully someone in some other state will sign me. i’m so ready for some change and for some hard work.

shooting with a new photographer, ryan from clearwater on tuesday…we are shooting for a clothing company called snorg…they run a lot of ads on myspace so you might be familiar with their work.

tomorrow is my dad’s birthday. jon and i are planning on partying with him tomorrow night…my dad can party pretty f’ing hard too…haha.

jon and i are roadtripping to ohio to visit his family for thanksgiving. i’ll be shooting up in ohio as well, so if you’re a photographer from columbus, ohio and want to shoot, send me a booking request. :)

saturday is my friend kelly’s birthday, still gotta find her a cute present. i love birthday present shopping for people, it’s always fun.

i haven’t been carrying my camera around as much as i used to or would like to, so i definitely need to change that! taking pictures throughout your day and life is so much fun because i love looking back through them. jon and i spent hours last night looking through pictures we’ve taken together and throughout our relationship..we’ve both changed a lot since we even met but somehow have managed to change together which has kept our bond strong. i still can’t even remember a true fight we’ve ever gotten into. we’re both just chilled out people and communicate well and have 100% trust, i guess that helps a lot.

some girl from kentucky emailed me the other day with her whole life story about her dating this kid and whatnot. he abuses her, throws her against walls, brings her down, calls her bad names, etc…and i told her to ditch the fucking guy. it’s ridiculous to even be with someone who steals your joy so much..absolutely ridiculous. it’s pointless too because they’ll never change. and hey, if they do, tell them to do it without you because you don’t need to wait around for it. life is just too short.

i love my fanny pack..it’s seriously the same fanny pack i’ve had since i was 8 years old…can’t get more badass than that!

vanity obscura is a photoshop designer, they made a little graphic for me and sent it over, how f’ing cute.

jon and i ate so much junk at the fair when we went…jesus.

i love how they made my tattoo and eyes green!!

i need to quit eating so much junk food and start getting healthy damnit.

jon, tammy, chris, john, jenny and i rode the world’s largest slingshot the other night…it’s seriously AMAZING. i felt so electric as we shot off into the sky…you could see all of orlando, absolutely beautiful.

and who here remembers POGS? so good!! i found my pog collection the other day and was so stoked, i was a badass kid, i had some rad pogs. hahah

won 7 fish from the fair…gave them to my little brother, he was SO stoked!

i have a bump on my forehead because a shelf with my vhs collection, the wii, playstation 2, dvd player, and bottles of wine FELL ON ME the other night. okay..so i was trying to play the dvd of jon and i doing the world’s largest slingshot to some friends. well, i was a teeny bit tipsy and the entire shelf which stands about 7 feet tall fucking FELL ON ME and trampled me…seriously hilarious, shit was flying everywhere! but in the process a bottle of red wine that i’ve been saving that’s worth some money BROKE OVER MY HEAD! i was a mess with red wine and glass…many of the vhs cases got all wet and i also have a lot of red wine on my cream colored carpet. gotta love it!

peace and love…i’ll be back for you all soon. xxoo

life has been absolutely bonkers lately…so so so busy.

halloween horror nights at universal..halloween parties…studying…photoshoots…the fair…shopping…birthday parties…meetings. but i love it because it keeps me busy, keeps my crazy mind from thinking…and it’s fucking fun!

jon and i are now subscribed to beer magazine..we just got a new issue today and we’re so stoked.

old school super mario for nintendo on wii is just brilliant…you can order these wii points online and buy old nintendo games, sega games, duck hunt, all that jazz wirelessly from your console..nintendo really knows how to make me happy. :)

i bought my new favorite pair of boots yesterday…so cute! i went on a little shopping spree the other day and got so many cute things, like 6 pairs of tights, boots, nightgowns, soap, a ceramic owl figurine, candles, massage oils, cute stickers and probably a ton of other random stuff.

did a photoshoot with kyle looney from gainesville the other night…jon and i both modeled for the company cuttin up hookers…check them out at www.cuttinuphookers.com

also did a photoshoot with a friend victoria zeoli…she’s great and so is her work…check it out:

i’m going to be doing a ton of sets soon for www.zivity.com, it’s an awesome site where people buy votes, vote on their favorite sets and the models and photographers get royalties from it. i’m going to shoot the sets with hassan from headhunter, they should be super hot and steamy. :)

got some photos from my shoots with lauren steil…she’s so awesome, she also makes great jewelry. she made the custom wishbone necklace i’m wearing in one look. love her face.

to see more from this set…go to the gallery “window watching”.

to see more from this set, go to the gallery ‘lavender linen’.

to see more from this set, go to the gallery ‘modern monroe’.

i dressed up as some dead dolly psycho zombie lady for halloween, here’s a shot from the webcam.

going to the fair today!!

opeth was amazing last night! they played about a two hour set. baroness opened for them, they played a lovely hour set which definitely blew me away.

also have some news photos, done by the lovely miss lauren steil.

and some more shots from anna//whitelight imaging.

a funny outtake:

voting starts nov. 4th and still so confused on who to elect!

weather here in florida is starting to get so cool and beautiful. i love being able to open my windows and not sweat my ass off.

i look so tan in these pictures…too bad i’m white as a ghost.

there’s a pizza place in los angeles that delivers 54 inch by 54 inch pizzas for $199.99….i want one delivered to me so bad.

i’ve been eating a lot of tacos lately…not so good.

hello world—are you there?

October 21st, 2008 -- Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

finally getting over being sick. i’ve had an upper respriatory infection for the past week and it’s had me in bed feeling awful most of this past weekend. i apologize for not being in attendance at the catwalk tragedy this year–to all of those who came for me, i truely apologize.

last night i shot with lithium picnic. we shot for a few hours in his hotel room while he’s here visting in orlando. we got some awesome looks in, the shots turned out amazing. i’ll have them up for you all to view as soon as he sends them over. we watched ridiculous youtube videos and balanced on the underneath of mattresses. gotta love ashli too..what a fucking cutie.

rubik’s cubes are nuts! i found one laying around the other day and picked it up…i can’t set it down. i want to figure it out so bad!

classes are getting a little tougher, it bums me out because it leaves me with less shooting time than i’d prefer. but hey–gotta get that degree.

jon and i bought a wii last week…let’s just say-he’s addicted. i’m loving it too but i just rarely have the time or patience to sit down and play video games. life is just way too short to play them for hours.

the opeth concert is tonight in orlando at the house of blues. i am so excited to finally see them play again, on their own headlining tour! they’re playing with baroness–should rule. :)

phillip told me last night that i was one of the cutest, awesome and most sweet girls he’s ever met and how much of a treat i was. he’s a great inspiration and so amazing at what he does, i can’t wait to see and work with him already again…definitely in the works.

the new hails and horns issue came out but i can’t find it anywhere! i’m trying to get a few extra issues picked up for a couple friends and they’re nowhere to be found…so bummed. but hey, atleast they’re selling!

tomorrow is going to be a long day at school…then a paid shoot on thursday which should last half a day. so glad it’s already tuesday, time has just been flying by lately.

i’ve been collecting a lot of different plants for our back porch recently. jon and i picked up a thai pepper plant the other day, the 3rd hottest pepper in the world! right now all the peppers are a really neat, darkish purple. when they are at their hottest point and ready to be picked is when they’re bright red. i also have a ton of other random plants and flowers to complete my backyard jungle…it’s the best place to chill and get a breather.

this year’s election really has me confused. i think it has most of america confused actually. i don’t like either candidates, so what does that leave me with? this is my first year i’ve been able to vote and i was kind of looking forward to it. maybe i should just move to europe.

travis from shear terror came over the other night to visit me while i was sick. he does awesome work, check out his site, www.shearterrorhairdesigns.com.

whew…such a crazy life lately. my college classes are getting pretty tough which lead me studying a lot more than i want. i haven’t been shooting that much lately, just focusing more on my education and agencies now.

screamfest (aka spooky empire) is this weekend! the dates are october 17-19. i’ll be working there all weekend as a booth model for a couple companies and i’ll be appearing in the runway show this saturday night. i promised more info, so here it is:

www.spookyempire.com has a full schedule of events. the address is: 8001International Drive. the convention is located in the Wyndham Resort in Orlando, FL. i’m so excited to meet everyone there!

i was asked to do an interview to be a featured model for the website, www.pixacom.com so that’s up for you all to read as well! I also have it attached to the bottom of this blog entry for those of you who are too lazy to go to the website.

the new hails and horns magazine came out but all the hop topics around orlando are sold out of them…here’s a screen shot of the evil needles spread i was in!

Occupation: College Student and Model

Website Link: www.missmandymurphy.com

Pixacom: Where were you born, and how was life growing up?
Mandy Murphy: I was born in Altamonte, FL the first baby at that hospital born in the year 1988-I even got a T-shirt out of it! I grew up as an only child until the age of 14, overall I had a decent childhood.

Pixacom: What nationality are you?

Mandy Murphy: Irish, Italian and Scottish

Pixacom: What would the average person say about you?
Mandy Murphy: I have a big heart..I hear that the most.

Pixacom: What kind of stuff did you get into after high school?
Mandy Murphy: Modeling actually…I couldn’t imagine modeling in highschool, I was too much of a mess!

Pixacom: How did you get into modeling?
Mandy Murphy: Always wanted to be a model growing up, did a few oddball modeling gigs growing up, but gained more interest as my friends got into photography.

Pixacom: How long have you been modeling?
Mandy Murphy: Only about a year..a little under.

Pixacom: Have you done any Nude modeling?
Mandy Murphy: No, but I have definitely thought about it and considered it…the timing just hasn’t been right yet. I need to decide what I want to major in before I make that decision.

Pixacom: How did you feel being in front of the camera for the first time?
Mandy Murphy: It was a little weird but I automatically felt comfortable. All I really did was smile…and my first shoot actually involved implied nudity!

Pixacom: How did you feel walking into your photoshoot?
Mandy Murphy: Usually a little nervous if I haven’t met the photographer or the rest of the team, but as soon as I get there my nerves settle instantly.

Pixacom: So would you say you are comfortable now?
Mandy Murphy: Most definitely!

Pixacom: Would you say you are pretty comfortable with your body?
Mandy Murphy: Very comfortable.

Pixacom: Are you enhanced with Plastic Sugery?
Mandy Murphy: Never had any, never once thought of it.

Mandy Murphy: The feeling of knowing you’re doing something you love…expressing yourself with your body and trying to bring out your inner most emotions, it’s amazing.

Pixacom: What do you do differently to set yourself apart from other models?
Mandy Murphy: I’m not a premadonna…I answer most of my emails, I interact with my “fans” and I’m not too full of myself like most girls involved in this industry.

Pixacom: Where do you hope your modeling will take you?
Mandy Murphy: I hope I can reach young girls and help them love themselves…it’s easy to have low self esteem growing up and I want to prove to people that you can have tattoos, a scar on your stomach and not be totally perfect to be a model…because I’m far from perfect…girls need to realize it’s not about perfection.

Pixacom: Where can we find you on a typical weekend, if you aren’t doing a
photoshoot?
Mandy Murphy: Chilling on my back porch! I have a huge wrap out screened in porch with the most comfortable furniture, a radio and a bunch of flowers and plants…it always brightens my day, I love to relax. However, I do love flea markets and garage sales on weekends!

Pixacom: What keeps you busy away from modeling?
Mandy Murphy: School, studying for exams, writing papers, spending time with my boyfriend and friends,

Pixacom: What do you want to do outside of modeling?
Mandy Murphy: I would love to teach someday, I also want to be a counselor or mentor for people with addictions and mental illnesses.

Pixacom: Five years from now, where do you see yourself?
Mandy Murphy: Happily married, owning a home and set in a career.

Pixacom: What is the coolest thing a fan has ever done for you?
Mandy Murphy: Drawn me…I love that a person could create art from me..it’s so rad.

Pixacom: Any photographers you enjoy working with or hope to work with?
Mandy Murphy: I love pretty much everyone I’ve worked with! A special thanks to Steven Shea, Hassan Patterson, Amberly Reynolds and Anna!

Pixacom: Which internet websites would you say you spend most of your time
at?
Mandy Murphy: My site, http://www.missmandymurphy.com, http://myspace.com and http://modelmayhem.com

Mandy Murphy: Yes, it has me flying on short notice and using a lot of gas!

Pixacom: Do you like all the traveling?
Mandy Murphy: It’s the best part!

Pixacom: If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?
Mandy Murphy: Paris, London or Milan..

Pixacom: If you could play lead role in any type of movie, What kind of
movie would it be?
Mandy Murphy: A stoner movie or a horror flick.

Pixacom: Do you have a favorite Car?
Mandy Murphy: Older, classic cars are my favorite–especially novas.

Mandy Murphy: Totally acceptable..dude’s always have to poop.

Pixacom: Find a lamp and out pops a Genie, you get one wish, what would it
be?
Mandy Murphy: Undying personal success.

Pixacom: We grant you the power to create the perfect man. Describe the
features you would include?
